1. General
When you visit OptimaSport.com's websites, OptimaSport.com collects information about you. Below you can read about the information that is collected, including how it is processed, what it is used for, who has access to the information, and whom you can contact if you have questions or objections regarding the data collected.
OptimaSport.com collects information about you in two ways:
- Through the use of cookies
- Through information you provide yourself
2. Cookies
2.1 What are cookies?
The first time you visit one of OptimaSport.com's websites, you automatically receive one or more cookies. You also receive cookies when you perform searches or visit subpages on our websites. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera or similar) and which registers you as a unique user. Cookies make it easier to use the internet because you don't have to start over each time. In other words, the website can use a cookie to remember information about your preferences. For example, a cookie is what allows you to avoid logging in to a site every time you visit.
2.2 What do we use cookies for?
Cookies help inform OptimaSport.com about your visit and behaviour on our websites and other digital platforms.
To determine who visits OptimaSport.com's websites, we use cookies to maintain demographic and user-related statistics. Here we collect information about when and how long you visit a website, which and how many sections, articles and other products you visit, whether your computer has visited us before, which browser and operating system you use, IP numbers, which advertisements you see and so on. This way we can ensure you don't keep seeing the same banner ads repeatedly, while also striving to show you ads that may be of interest. With your permission, we use the collected information to target our direct marketing to you. We also use the information to document and demonstrate the value of advertisement placements to our advertisers.
These cookies are called first-party cookies and are set by OptimaSport.com.
2.3 How long do we store cookies?
The cookies sent to you will be stored on your device for a varying number of months from the last time you visited one of OptimaSport.com's websites. Each time you revisit a website, the period is extended. The relevant cookies are automatically deleted upon expiry. You can read below about how to delete cookies.
2.4 How to avoid cookies
If you do not wish to receive cookies, you can block all cookies, delete existing cookies from your hard drive, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Click here for instructions on how to configure this in your browser/smartphone.
Please note that the instructions are provided for most browsers and smartphones, but a few are not listed.
You can always use the help function in your browser to get more information about cookie settings. You typically do this by pressing "F1" on your PC. Search for "cookies".
2.5 Cookies from our partners
OptimaSport.com also has a number of partners who set cookies — so-called third-party cookies. These may be our advertisers, media agencies, ad networks and other services (e.g. Facebook, AddThis) that set these cookies.
The purpose of such cookies is to ensure delivery of targeted online advertisements, and to enable login and sharing of e.g. articles on the partners' websites. For surveys, analyses and similar, cookies are set to register your response and thus avoid you receiving the same survey again.
2.6 Cookies from Google (traffic measurement)
OptimaSport.com uses cookies from Google. The measurements are carried out in strict compliance with applicable data protection regulation.
The purpose of these cookies is to generate statistical information about the entire internet user group, making it possible to determine, for example, which websites are most popular among different demographic groups (e.g. women and men). Information is presented to third parties only in aggregated form.
Information is shared with third parties, including OptimaSport.com's partners, only in anonymised form for the purpose of targeting marketing and gaining better insight into users on individual websites and the market in general. Information is also shared with third parties if required by law.
3. Personal data
3.1 What are personal data?
OptimaSport.com asks for your personal and user-related information when you purchase services on a website or sign up for newsletters, competitions, etc. This is primarily information such as name, address, postal code, email, phone number, gender and age, but may also include information about interests, internet familiarity, etc. In connection with purchases or sign-ups for a service, mandatory information is clearly marked on the form. Providing additional information in connection with a purchase or service sign-up is voluntary.
3.2 How long do we store personal data?
When you purchase services on a website, we need your personal data as documentation until the service has been paid for and delivered, any cancellation period has expired, and the deadline for payments has passed. Afterwards, the information may be archived. Three years after archiving, all personal data is deleted at OptimaSport.com.
If you sign up for newsletters and competitions, etc., or have otherwise given consent for us to use your information for marketing purposes, your information is stored for a maximum of three years after the service is unsubscribed.
3.3 What do we use personal data for?
The personal data we collect about you when you, for example, create a profile on one of OptimaSport.com's digital platforms, is primarily used to complete the purchase or service for which the information was collected. The information is also used by OptimaSport.com and partners to gain better insight into you. This use may include surveys and analyses aimed at improving our products, services and technologies, and displaying content and advertisements tailored to your interests and hobbies.
The information is not shared with third parties unless you give specific consent to this, or unless data protection law exceptionally permits the sharing of general customer information.
If you have given consent to receive direct marketing with news and offers etc., we may also use the collected information to target the marketing you receive via phone, mail or electronic media.
Please note that any information you provide — including personally identifiable information — in a public forum such as an online discussion is not covered by this confidentiality policy and may be seen by third parties unrelated to OptimaSport.com. We therefore recommend that you carefully consider what information you provide in connection with using these.
3.4 Combining of data
When you create a profile on one of OptimaSport.com's websites or other digital platforms, or give us permission to contact you about news and offers via phone, mail or electronic media (email, SMS, MMS, video messages, pop-ups, etc.), we combine the information you enter in your profile with information collected via cookies in order to target news and offers to you. OptimaSport.com uses cookies to collect information about your behaviour on websites and other digital platforms belonging to OptimaSport.com and partners, cf. point 2 above.
3.5 Protection of personal data
According to data protection law, your personal information must be stored securely and confidentially. We store the personal information you provide on computers with restricted access, located in controlled facilities, and our security measures are continuously checked to determine whether our user information is handled responsibly, while always considering your rights as a user.
However, we cannot guarantee 100% security for data transmissions over the internet. This means there is a risk that others may unlawfully gain access to information when data is sent and stored electronically. Please be aware that you provide your personal information at your own risk.
3.6 Changes to the processing of personal data
The rapid development of the internet means that changes to our processing of personal data may become necessary. We therefore reserve the right to update and amend these guidelines for the processing of personal data. If we do, we will of course update the "last updated" date at the bottom of the page. In the event of significant changes, we will notify you by means of a visible notice on our websites.
